Video Thursday?

As I try and come up with a logical system for how this blog is going to work I figured some videos are in order so let's see what we can come up with.

This video of Feist's upcoming appearance has been making it's rounds around the Internet lately. The seemingly odd combination of Feist's breakthrough hit "1234" and Muppets makes quite a bit of sense when you think about it. It should also please many young Williamsburg parents. I'm just hoping that when/if I ever have kids, Spencer Krug or someone equally as awesome has a song that could be easily appropriated for a bit on Sesame Street.

And while I'm posting videos of Feist I might as well throw in my personal favorite, a performance of (what else) "1234" from The Late Show with David Letterman last Summer. What makes this one stand out from any other? Singing backup are members of Broken Social Scene, The National, Grizzly Bear, Mates of State, and The New Pornographers. I think there's at least one other noteworthy person in the group but those are the one's that I'm familiar with so they get mentioned.

Finally, and most importantly, a trailer to top things off. As you are probably well aware of, The Dark Knight opens tomorrow and if the buzz is any indicator it should be pretty fantastic. Like most people I am pretty excited for this movie, but what I was not aware of until recently is that there will be something almost as equally awesome amongst most sets of previews for the movie: a trailer for the upcoming Watchmen movie. If you're not familiar with Watchmen I insist you get familiar as soon as possible, preferably before the movie comes out next year. I haven't really followed/read comics in any capacity for well over a decade, but I read the Watchmen graphic novel a year or so ago and it lived up to the hype (it's regarded as one of the best graphic novels of all-time). Anyway, you've probably realized by now that I am pretty excited for this movie even though the material is probably going to be extremely hard to adapt to a feature film. Ideally Watchmen would make an amazing HBO miniseries but since that will never happen a movie will just have to do. Needless to say, I have my fingers crossed for this one. Unfortunately I can't embed this video as it hasn't hit Youtube yet so you'll have to go here and check it out for yourself.
