Revolution #9 and The Sunday Night Baseball Drinking Game

As I mentioned in the inaugural post, I've been mulling over the idea of a new Reliablog for some time now. I guess what I really needed to actually do it was something to write about though. Lucky for me (or perhaps unlucky) the Mets are gunning for their ninth straight win on the Sunday night ESPN game this evening. Why is this a good/bad thing you ask? It means we get the great Joe Morgan calling the game. You see Joe Morgan has earned himself quite the reputation as an announcer over the past couple of years.

Emmy Award Winner Joe Morgan (As ridiculous as that may be I still think the Emmy's are more legit than the Grammy's. Although that's really not saying much.

Some of the statements Mr. Morgan makes during game broadcasts could be best described as, misinformed. Between his broadcasts and chats on ESPN.com he has even earned a website dedicated towards him losing his job: Firejoemorgan.com. The site is actually dedicated to skewering sports journalism in general and is easily one of the funniest sites on the internet in my opinion. It also helps that one of the writers, Ken Tremendous (a pseudonym) is a Michael Schur, a writer for The Office and perhaps more famously: Mose Schrute.

Ken Tremendous

Anyway, the intention of this post was to notify y'all that I will listening intently to tonights Sunday Night Baseball broadcast for any ridiculous comments from Morgan or his sleep-inducing partner, Jon Miller. I'll try to update at the end of each inning assuming I get enough to write about.

This will count as the 1st/2nd inning update. Thus far, all I have noticed besides Miller's typical frequent mispronunciation of Carlos Beltran's last name is Morgan claiming that Carlos Delgado leads the team with 16 HR's (Delgado's teammate David Wright has 17). To be fair though, the graphic on the screen said the same thing so this could be an error on the production team's part.

Also, I know I mentioned the Sunday Night Baseball Drinking game in the title of this post, but it'll have to wait for a little bit. This post needs to end at some point.
